At least I've finally gotten a bit better at the z inputs but I feel like all of my inputs are being eaten during moves.Having a hard time with jD, 5S, 2D, 623K (hold 4).To me it seems random when jD connects to 5S or 5S to 2D.

These always drop the combo when I'm doing. Even when they do chain I can never get the input for the 623K in fast enough.You guys are amazing for being able to do this stuff God damn. Gatlings are where you can input the next move while the previous move is still active and it will cancel the animation of the first move into the second. Links require you to wait for the previous move to finish before you can input the next move, and usually have very specific timing windows to input the next move.

If you input a link too early, the next move won't come out. Gatlings are where you cancel recovery of a move to start another move, and only certain buttons can be done as a gating based on your last button.Links are where you do the next move right as recovery of the previous move ends, so you don't or can't cancel the recovery. Links are harder, because you have to have the proper timing, while Gatlings can be done at any time during recovery.Iirc, slayer also has links.Combos are just when your opponent never exits hitstun, so you keep moves going before they regain control.Your combo counter goes gray if the opponent had the ability to tech out in the middle of your combo, but didn't. Otherwise it stays red, showing it is a true combo. Combos can be made out of links and gatlings, but you can also do blockstrings with both.

But I'm trying to complete the tutorial in guilty gear since I have not played fighting games in ages so thought that would be a good place to start. But at the stage where you need to do jump canceling, I can't do the thing where it says I need to do a jumping Triangle cancel.So do I jump while pressing triangle then jump again?

I've tried it 100's of times but can't get it right. What am I doing wrong?. Since I'm struggling with this as well i want to necro this for giving some hints.I'm slowly getting the hang of it and there are two things that I keep in mind for it.Let go of the directional button after you jumped.
